About the Author
The son of Norwegian parents, Roald Dahl was born in Wales in 1916 and educated at Repton. He was a fighter pilot for the RAF during the Second World War, and it was while writing about his experiences during this time that he started his career as an author. His fabulously popular children's books are read by children all over the world. He died in November 1990. Quentin Blake is Britain's leading illustrator, and was chosen as the first Children's Laureate.

Roald Dahl was in my opinion the greatest childrens story writer in history. Not everybody knows it but he also wrote adult fiction too. No matter who it is for though Roald Dahl was always and will always be my favourite author. It's absolutely fantastic that he wrote this little cook book too because among other things i also love to cook and this book is great for itroducing children to the wonderful world of cooking.
