This is a great resource for learning the anatomy of all the major muscles, and some of the most common and popular exercises. All the illustrations are excellent quality, which makes it easy to see which muscles are being used with each exercise. Simple and easy to understand, this book is a must have for anyone interested in strength training and anatomy.
If you learn visually then this book will be a godsend if you work in the fitness industry, or as a physiotherapist.
It gives you illustrations of the human body in different common strength training exercises while highlighting the different muscles in use. It even goes through the synergist muscles as well. It also has correct technique listed for each exercise.
A must have if you want to learn anatomy visually, as it will make it much easier just to look a human body doing an exercise in real life, and to be able to visualise which muscles and working.
This book is an accessible look into the anatomical aspects of strength training, with clear and detailed yet simple diagrams and explanations so that one doesn't have to be a medical doctor to understand it. The contents are divided into different parts of the body (Arms, shoulders, chest, back etc).
It has instructions on particular exercises and information on what muscles are used in that particular exercise. What is particularly helpful is that in the pictures depicting the exercise, the person doing it is drawn in black and white, but the muscles being worked are coloured in a vivid shade of red, making it clear which muscle fibres are being activated and where they are situated. There are also helpful sections such as "Elbow structure and its effect on training".
this book will help you build an idea of what muscles are being worked during the exercise peformed. Very simple in design and content but that is what is needed, def good to have on the shelf. This book will never be outdated either, because i do not belive much has changed in skeletsl mucscle anatomy and movement in the past few years

This book is an excellent resource on what exercises to use to train certain muscle groups. The detailed illustrations are in color and provide the strength athelete with so much informaion that it's like having a personal trainer guide you. This book also includes detailed inforfmation on training injuries and preventative measures. If you are new to strength training or an experienced trainer you will find this book an excellent resource. I have it in my library and often refer to it when creating new exercise routines. If you are planning to set New Year goals for 2007 then buy this book as it will guide you in your fitness goals.
you dont have to be an anatomy student to understand this book. The author has showbn very easily the exercises and the muscles which are used in performing the movement. If you know anatomy dont worry about this book, however if you want to increase your knowledge this is a great starting point.
