The popular series about Meredith Gentry, Los Angeles private investigator and faerie princess, continues with her evil aunt's efforts to assure that Merry has a child. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
Considering all the complications, sexual and otherwise, that Merry Gentry, heir to the faerie throne, endured in A Kiss of Shadows (2000) and A Caress of Shadows (2002), it's no surprise to find the start of Hamilton's third book in her erotic fantasy series weighed down by attempts to conversationally recap earlier convolutions. Even readers of the first two books might have problems sorting out exactly why Merry is messing with the goblin king via magic mirror. Though the author maintains interest through such devices as an imaginative sex scene involving Merry, two of her sidhe studs and a doll-sized, winged, blood-sucking demi-fey, it takes a milieu switch from L.A. to St. Louis and the Unseelie court for the plot to take off and become a page turner. Merry confronts faerie politics that make Machiavelli look like a rookie, while her aunt's sadistic madness leads to what must rank as one of the bloodier scenes of fictional slaughter. Since Merry's previous role as a private eye has almost completely disappeared, nefarious deeds require magic to solve rather than detection. Hamilton's trademark mix of the personal and emotional along with the sexual will as usual delight her fans. Add yet another tour de force ending, a new final total of 16 lustful sidhe male immortals with whom to couple (or triple or...), and a fair future is assured for Merry for at least another few books. (Feb. 3) FYI: Hamilton is also the author of the bestselling Anita Blake vampire series (Cerulean Sins, etc.). Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.

This 3rd book in the Meridith Gentry series is quite bloody. The Unseelie Queen has offered Merry the throne if she can get pregnant before her son Cel can impregnate someone, so the race is on. Merry grows stronger in her powers, but will she be able to unthrone Queen Andais and keep Cel from killing her first?
Laurell K Hamilton has a brilliant imagination. The array of fae creatures and characters is mind boggling. The sex is mighty fine too.
Seduced By Moonlight continues the story of Merry Gentry (aka Princess Meredith) and gives you more insight into where she comes from, who she is and why so many strange things are happening to her. You really need to read all of the books in this series to get the full picture. Even though it works as an interesting (if slightly confusing) stand-alone, when a book is part of a series, then it should be read that way. I adore Laurell K Hamilton, and can never put her books down. Some of her books may be strange, but she truly never fails to take the reader for one hell of a ride.
It is not just the packet of life savers five fruits colored Sidhe bodyguards that the princess has to romp around with, you can add goblins into the mix as well. Those goblin types like eating people too, so this can be a little problematic.
Then there is the whole possed by powerful Sidhe god types, as well. This could all really leave one woman sore.
Unfortunately, this book didnt quite do it for me. A very slow start, which carried on right through until closer to the end of the book, where the story started to pick up. The story line was so thick with dramatic words, that it was just an overkill. Some of the more sexually referenced phrases were very dominatrix, almost sadistic, and I found that there was too much sexual behaviour in the book. Although, not a complete let down. You learn a bit more about the characters of the Unseelie Court and, eventually you to get to the point of Princess Merediths Plight. A disappointing follow up to the last Laurell Hamilton book.
Another erotic and action packed romp of a book. Hamilton writes with her usual trademark and highly seductive style. A blend of sidhe magic, political intrigue, erotic and sizzling scenes and action based in the modern world. Combined with hugely entertaining and charismatic characters to make this a powerful and vivid story. Highly enjoyable and not one to be missed for Hamilton fans.
