About the AuthorNadja Knab-Leers lives with her husband and son in Waldkirch in the Black Forest region of Germany. Throughout her life, she has had a strong desire to express her creativity through fabric. Shortly after completing her training as the manager of a fashion studio, she accepted an offer from a well-known handicraft company that meant she could extend her creative passion to other mediums. She wrote magazine articles, and gave demonstrations on television and at trade fairs. In this book, Nadja has aimed to come up with ideas that are a little different, following her motto: 'Paying attention to little things makes everyday life a bit more special and adds joie de vivre. Heike Roland and Stefanie Thomas became friends in 1996 at a teddy bear trade fair, as a result of their mutual interest in making teddy bears. From then on, they travelled together with their families and their handmade bears to sales exhibitions in Germany, Austria, the UK and the USA. At some point, their 'bear fever' subsided and they pursued their creativity in other areas. Their first book was published in 2004.
