Interesting premise for a book - American throws in her job for a dream to sudy at the Cordon Bleu school in Paris. It is really a light summer read about her falling in love with Paris and her boyfriend Mike at the same time, and completing the cooking challenges - especially satisfying her biggest critic (the gray chef, and of course herself).
There are some lovely moments but it is a little bit of a stop-start affair and a neurotic leading lady that left me unengaged. Perhaps chunks were edited out to show only highlights, funny moments or make way for the recipes. The recipes at the end of each chapter are a nice touch but some have over 25 ingredients and 3 pages of instructions - not likely to be used.
Okay read only. For a foodie like myself, it was like ordering the signature dish and finding it was served to the next table. I kept waiting for the chef/author to deliver...

If you are interested in how Le Cordon Bleu School in Paris operates then you'll find this book very engaging. It's an easy read and interlaced with excellent classical recipes. Many technical aspects of food preparation are described which I found particularly useful. I highly recommend this book to all foodies.
