This is my first book of Johanna Lindsey's. I was a bit disappointed. I skipped the first half of the book coz I just couldn't wait to see some romance. Unfortunately I could not feel any passion and spark between the two characters.

I read this in a day. The introduction was a bit long so it might be difficult for people to get into But i stuck with it because Johanna Lindsey books get better as you read more. I just kind of thought "enough! Let's get too the good stuff" so that was the only real drawback. The harem setting sounded really exciting and interesting but Derek and Chantelle don't even meet until halfway through the book. Not the best of her books but still worth a shot.

The first problem with the book came with the two main characters. They did not meet until half way into the book!!! However, when they were together there was the usual passion that Lindsey is known for. Unfortunately, she drops the ball again with the conclusion of the book. Lindsey leaves about ten unanswered questions. Furthermore, the heroine acts uncharacteristically at the end. After turning the last page, the reader will be immensely disappointed. I do not recommend this book. Lindsey needs to rewrite the ending and answer the questions she left hanging.

I am a real sucker for the sheik and harem story! And this is one of the best. Captured by Barbaby Pirates while trying to escape an arranged marriage puts Chantelle Burke on the auction lot of the Dey... who purchases her not ofr himself but as a foil for a plot on his life, a plot which Chantelle nearly dies trying to uncover. Fast paced, easily read, another great book to curl up with on a winter's night. Find out for yourself why the world loves Johanna Lindsey

This book would have to be one of my all time favourites, I don't know what it is about the sheikh and the harem girl plot that gets me but I fall for those types of books every time (For those that are wondering I'm aware that reality would be no where as fun/nice as fantasy). Anyway, Silver Angel would have to be one of the better examples of this popular fantasy, the writing style is lyrical, the characters simply brilliant and the love scenes give a new meaning to hot. In all this book is a must read for lovers of historical romance and I strongly recommend that you buy this classic novel.
