OK, so I know that Bethany has an amazing story, but I think (and I can't believe I am saying this) the movie is so much better than the book. It is obvious that Behtany is very mature for her age, however the writing style was just so basic - yes, I know she is just a teenager - and that just did not inspire me at all. I read this book in all of an hour. I feel as though this book could have had so much potential if maybe Bethany had worked with an established writer as I found it really difficult to feel emotional at all during this book.

Soul Surfer is an autobiography of an event in Bethany Hamilton's life...a once in a lifetime event. Bethany is a young budding pro surfer or 'BETTY' in surf slang. The event happens one day when she is out doing what she loves: Surfing. Her arm gets bitten off up to the shoulder by a great white shark(this shark was later caught- they identified it as it had Bethany's watch in it's stomach!).

This is a book to put on your- TO READ list- Absolutely inspiring.

Soul Surfer is a motivating book that encourages every one who reads to keep trying and fighting for what they believe in. It is a motivating biography for anyone who wants a laugh, a cry or some motivation in life.

In summary = wow.
Bethany is amazing: amazing on the surfboard, amazing at writing and most importantly an amazing Christian.
I have been to lots of Christian talks etc. but it was this young girl’s story that really captured my heart and led me spiritually closer to the Lord.
This is a must read whether you are Christian, a surfer, non Christian or non surfer.
