This. Blowed. My. Mind.
It was what as I expected yet it had some unforeseen surprises along the way.
I find it very challenging to review this book because it was sooooo good in so many ways that was SO incredibly hard to explain in words. Let alone reactions on face. :O
When we love a book, we all tend to say “I couldn’t put it down”, and well, in this case, I loved the book so much I HAD to put it down for a brief silent moment and take a deep breath because it was just too much. Love, Determination, Treason, Fear, Sadness, Grief, all these emotions printed onto paper made everything so intense in a way that became unbearable. However, at times I couldn’t believe my own eyes in what I'd read, seeing the many events happening in a book that triggered reactions that made my heart stop. Not kidding.
But Dimitri, oh Dimitri! Despite a disappointed "thing" that most won't know about until they read the book, but like any other, Richelle Mead has ended the book in the usual cliff hanger, and I can't wait til December comes around the corner, knowing how this terrific epic story ends. And, if I'm allowed to say so, I really hope for a particular "something" to happen. But who knows. Maybe not. Anyway, Vampire Academy is my favorite series of all time and Richelle Mead - my writing idol - has delivered. As always. Spirit Bound was action-packed, full of surprises, hard-hitting emotions and of course MORE magic.
Wonderful.

The long awaited 5th book of the highly popular Vampire Academy series didn't disappoint. The 4th book ended with Rose hearing the rumour of a Spirit-user who could turn Strigoi back into the Dhampirs or Moroi they once were, raising her hopes of saving the soul of her beloved Dimitri.
Right from the beginning shadowkissed/wise-cracking Rose has a few issues to face. Not only does Rose have to figure out how the Spirit-user turned Strigoi back and pass her final Guardian exams but she has also has major boy problems.
On one side Rose has Adrian, a totally hot moroi Spirit-user/Dreamwalker who absolutely adores her & who is also willing to put aside his bad habits to make her happy; but his aunt is the Queen of the moroi who has made her disapproval of Rose very clear & has the power to assign her to a desk job instead being Guardian of Lissa.
On the other side is Dimitri, her gorgeous ex-instructor/ex-lover turned Strigoi who sends her creepy love letters every week. Dimitri has made it very clear that if he can't have Rose as his Strigoi partner for eternity he'll make sure that no else will have her.
Rose isn't the only one with boy problems. Lissa and Christian are still loggerheads since the last book. Christian still can't forgive Lissa for her out of control behavior and things she said/did under influence of Avery. Lissa is still battles her demons/depressions that is a result of using her Spirit power, which isn't helped by the fact she goes green with envy when she notices Christian in the company of other female moroi.
I don't want to ruin the story but there is a lot that happens in this book and you definitely won't see the end coming.
I can't wait for the release for the sixth and final Vampire Academy book... Last Sacrifice.

Another fantastic book in a fantastic series. Spirit bound showed just how much Rose would sacrifice for Dimitri, and their love took un unexpected turn. The cliffhanger left me waiting for more, and counting the days until Last sacrifice, the final book comes out. I recommend this, it's a must have, full of friendship, love & emotion. I couldn't put it down.

This book details the journey of our main characters seeking to save Dimitri's soul. No one believes this to be possible but the love of Rose for Dimitri is so strong that she seeks to defy all odds. The moment i got it i couldn't let go! For those of you (like me) whom have been yearning for more Dimitri and Rose may be slightly disappointed at the lack of the witty (for lack of a better word) interaction between them that made your heart skip a little bit faster in the first 3 books. However, Richelle Mead makes up for this with heartfelt and painful moments. One particular interaction (won't say which so as to no spoil anyone, but you will definitely know which one i'm talking about when you come across it) is so magnificently written in such a painful way that my heart just breaks for both Rose and Dimitri. Many time i have chuckled out loud at the dry wit of the characters, and shed tears for the heartbreaks experienced. Love this book! i highly recommend it, along with the rest of the books in the series, to anyone who loves a good YA book, not just those interested in the vampire/creatures of the night genre.

I loved almost every second of this book, the twists and turns. This series has stolen my heart and made me both laugh and cry! the only downfall was the cliff hanger ending, because i now have to wait to see what happens next! Anyone who loves a good story full of heartfelt and painful moments this series is for you.

Great book. It was really enjoyable and when reading this on the train someone commented that 'i must like the book very much because i keep smiling while reading it'. While that is embarrassing, it says a lot about the humour of the characters and the likeability of Rose's story telling which is always so entertaining. With this book comes the return of characters such as eddie, christian, adrian and lissa who get more chapter time than in the fourth book, and the book is better for it. Even though this book is set outside of st vladimirs the book doesnt skip a beat, and the politics between the royals, dhampir and moroi, queen tatiana and rose is interesting and really sets up a lot of tension for book six. And of course theres the heart breaking story of rose and dimitri which again leaves u waiting for the last book to see what will happen. Fans of this series will not be disappointed, this is definitely one of the best books in this series.

WOW.. Now that was a book! I LOVED THIS BOOK.. You get so drawn into the character and their life's, that I could not put it down so I read it in a day. This book is a must if you have read the other books, but be warned its a major cliffhanger when you finished and you will be thriving for more! This book is a heart breaker, as well as filled with rose's humor(I'm sure many people heard me burst of laughing while i was reading this), the story continues on from the last brilliantly as well as a catch up if its been a while since you read the last. I admire Richelle's talent in writing as well as to blow your mind!
