If you are serious about writing a screenplay...
There is much more to writing a screenplay than ensuring that there is a start, middle and end, and that the formatting is all correct. Most screenplays, whilst written by very creative individuals, lack the necessary mix of ingredients which can turn a waste of time, into a mega-movie. Take the time to read what Robert McKee has to say. He is, among other things, a seasoned screenplay critic who can show the other side of the story - what the people you normally initially write for, are looking for in a screenplay. It is a worthwhile investment, and will most likely ultimately save you many wasted hours of writing - all by knowing and understanding the underlying components of the screenplay. If you like it, consider John Truby's Anatomy of Story. Read these two. Then...stop reading, start writing.

The must have book for all aspiring screen-writers and movie maker's this book is a true masterpiece. Written by legendary screenwriter/teacher Robert McKee who's graduates include the legendary Peter Jackson. This book will not let you down.
