This book is the first gateway into the world of Carlos Castaneda. Based on the teachings of a Central American Indian whom Castaneda calls Don Juan, this book provides the reader with a Toltec sorcerors perception of our world that is as exciting as it is daunting. Controversy surrounds the authenticity of the relationship between Carlos and Don Juan, however, whichever way one sees this book, as fact or fiction, the wisdom that can be found in the Teachings of Don Juan are a masterpiece of the potential that humans can achieve. Begin your journey into the world of Carlos Castaneda with this book and you will be hard pressed not to want to read the rest of his series, as each progressive book leads one deeper into the toltec sorcerers journey.

Short recollection by the author of his experiences with peyote with a Yaqui man. He offers clear descriptions of his hallucinogenic experiences, but sometimes he is just kind of annoying.
