Reviews

The revisions are well thought out and relevant to the current practice of psychoanalysis in any of its forms. The discussions are thoughtful and carefully crafted, yet maintain a sense of brevity to prevent overwhelming readers with too much detail. Steven Herron, M.D., Doody Enterprises, Inc. This volume should serve to stimulate and nurture the intellectual curiosity and excitement of any student, trainee, or practitioner about learning, exploring, and employing the varying theories of mind under the umbrella of psychoanalysis. Rosemary H. Balsam, M.D., The American Journal of Psychiatry This is a solid introduction to psychoanalysis which contains all the appropriate elements for building the appropriate knowledge base for further exploration of the literature. Textbook of Psychoanalysis, 2nd Edition should thus be read widely by those interested not only in psychoanalysis specifically, but those involved in psychology, sociology and cultural studies.
