Beautiful edition of a classic story. My grandchildren 4 and 2 love it. It is very interactive with illustrations the children love. It is a very visual book as all the animals the old woman swallows are clearly visable and create a sense of fun and laughter as the story is being read. The children are not at all upset when the old woman dies as it seems a very natural conclusion after swallowing so many animals. It is definitely one of their favourite books.

This book does not contain the additional material advertised, such as the spider soup. This is misleading advertising. It is just the traditional rhyme in hadr book form.

Super cute version of the children's classic story. The book is a board book so it's tough enough to take a beating, but it's a small enough version for little hands. The kids have great fun with the little holes so you can see all the critters the old lady swallows! Great little book :)

A wonderful little book - great fun to read and lovely illustrations. It is a small board book suited to young kids, although my five year old loves it. The story is one I remember from my childhood. a fun little book to add to your childs collection.

This is a beautiful book. I have always loved the rhyme, and it is beautifully & creatively presented in this edition. My 13 month old loves the holes & listening to me sing the story to her.

This edition is really special to me - it's a boardbook version of a paperback I read as a child. The board book format is a great idea, though - it makes it much easier for little toddler hands to turn the pages, and makes the book so much more hardy. It's a sweet retelling of a classic book, and the brightly coloured illustrations make it really fun to share.

I loved this book when growing up and have been trying to find a copy of it since. I have used this story at dinner times with all of my children, when it is a dinner they are having trouble finishing. Each scoop I tell them a bit of the story I can get 7 more mouth fulls!! and it never scared me growing up knowing the old woman dies....

A lovely book with lots of repetition and a catchy tune to boot! My kids love this book. The really little ones name the animal and make the animal sounds. Though admittedly having a 4 year old who becomes obsessed with saying the word 'die' when she hears it, I have altered it a little so the old lady 'cries' each time she swallows another animal... My 7yr old looks at me like I've committed a crime, but at least my 4 yr old doesn't ask lots of tricky questions at bedtime! A fun book kids really like - particularly pre-schoolers.
