The Malory Towers books are awesome, and always will be. Whilst they are a far cry from what the children of today experience (no computers here!), I am sure that any kid with a whit of intelligence can enjoy these books. Well written, and heaps of fun, finding adventure in things that are not really all adventurous, these are a great read.

Sure Enid Blyton relies on stereotypes but she wrote when she did. There's the rascal, the tom boyish butch one, the shy one, the crazy French one ...so what? I simply loved the Malory Towers series when I was growing up and I can't wait to hear the dramatization which is also available on Fish Pond.
I am calling for an Enid Blyton revival!

I love the Malory Towers school stories! They're all fairly predictable - and the 'bad guys' always get their comeuppance at some point, even if they don't learn a lasting lesson from it - but they're a nice, gentle, enjoyable read. Like all these books, 'Third Year at Malory Towers' provides an interesting look into life in an English girls boarding school in a bygone era - though doubtless this is a rather sanitised version!

this is another good gripping read from the crew at malory towers. man does darels self righteousness get on my nerves sometimes though! i do find all their english jolly ness a bit too much at times too. but having said that i do lap up this series, and it is one of my favourtirs. a good read for all girls, great stuff

In this third year at Malory Towers, the boarding school for girls, Darrell finds herself as one of the "big girls" who must set an example to the little first years. There are six books in the series, all of them fantastic reads, and they should not be missed. With a wonderful cast of characters, Enid Blyton has done well portraying the colourful personalities.
