This is the third of the series featuring the MacLean family, who have been cursed with a weather curse. Lord Dougal MacLean has just won a house in a card game. He decides to check it out before he gives it to this nephew. But when he gets there, he finds the house in ruins and inhabited by a beautiful woman, Sophia MacFarlane. Sophia is desperate to get the house back because it was her father who gambled it away. She taunts Dougal into playing another card game in which the stakes are the house against her virtue. She can't lose, can she? This is the best of the series. I really enjoyed it even though it seemed a little far fetched at times. Recommended as a light read.
