This is a good bird guide. It is constructed in the traditional way of bird guides, with colour plates and details. For the people who is familiar with traditional bird guides, it is easy to follow this patterns.
However, I personally bought the another version by Michael Morcombe "Field Guide to Australian Birds: Complet Compact Edition", since it is little bit smaller, even though it was organised in non-traditional way. And I realised that the differences is not alway bad. For a beginner, who don't have fix mind what type of bird guide you like, you should try to look at the other version and compare between them. (The best way is try to find some birds you already know.) You may find other ways of organisation is suitable for you, as I've already tried and loved it.
As the contents in the book is also very good, but I like the other way of organisation appearing on the Morcombe version more, I give this book only four stars.
