Hi,
Just want to say that only after 5mins into reading this book and applying its methods its made an incredible difference for the better to the aches and pains in my body.
I bought this book because it was recommended on a couple of websites. I found it both fascinating and useful (at reducing muscle pain and tightness). It is a very thorough look at how massaging (mostly self-massage) specific muscles of the body can be of great benefit. I was looking for ways to ease my lower back pain but this book gave me many other massage trigger points for tight muscles which I have used to great effect.
My favourite parts of the book were:
1/ Incredibly simple but effective massaging of the lower legs.
2/ Using a rubber ball or tennis ball to massage hard-to-reach places (like the lower back and between the shoulder blades).
3/ Anatomical facts that were new to me (such as that the calf muscle is called the second heart because it helps return blood back up to the heart. Swollen ankles? Massaging your calf will help).
An excellent book. Came across this book when I was on the Frozen Shoulder forum, I was in incredible amount of pain that I was up early hours searching on the net. I purchased this book and it helped me locate and work on trigger points on my shoulder. Was booked in for steroid injections, also bowen therapy, but cancelled all these appointments after working on the trigger points frequently each day. I found relief within a week. I have passed on information about what points to work on, to friends that have muscular pain. They have also found pain relief, they have goine out and purchased this book too.
