The Unadulterated Cat is becoming an endangered species as more and more of us settle for those boring mass-produced cats the ad-men sell us - the pussies that purr into their gold-plated food bowls on the telly. But the Campaign for Real Cats sets out to change all that by helping us to recognise a true, unadulterated cat when we see one. For example: real cats have ears that look like they've been trimmed with pinking shears; real cats never wear flea collars ...or appear on Christmas cards ...or chase anything with a bell in it; real cats do eat quiche. And giblets. And butter. And anything else left on the table, if they think they can get away with it. Real cats can hear a fridge door opening two rooms away ...

This is not one of Pratchett's Discworld novels, this is a book about cats. Why cats are the way they are, what type of cats there are, and so on. Definitely a great gift for a cat lover, as they will appreciate the funniness, although those without a cat may not. Definitely a bit of fun.
This is a fun book but its not up to Pratchett's usual standards. If you're a cat lover (or hater) you will get plenty out of the anecdotes in this book but there are better books by pratchett out there for your money.
Well, I definitely got a few chuckles out of this book, but I didn't think it was riotously funny, which is usually my reaction when I read Terry Pratchett's books. I think it's because I'm really a dog person and I don't quite get cats! I did enjoy the anecdotes shared throughout the book though; like the one where the resident cat was stealing the newcomer's hunting spoils and parading them as his own! That is a classic. I think it will be a fantastic read for cat lovers, but just so-so for the general population.
