From the author of "Vampire Wow" and "Vampire Thrall" comes a compelling novel of blood, lust, and bloodlust. ReviewsVictor Decimus has been a vampire for 2000 years. He entered the world of the undead after the person he loved most and wanted as his lover spurned his advances in order to serve the Jewish God. Victor's bitterness over Jesus' (whom he calls Joshu) rejection has never left him. In modern times Victor lives in Washington, DC, with his vampire lover, Paul. The Dark Kingdom, which sets the rules for vampires, demands that the undead not associate with one another. Now as Victor continues his personal war against the Church, he and Paul also face the wrath of the Dark Kingdom. It is important to keep in mind that this novel, the third in a series (after the Lambda Literary Award-nominated Vampire Vow and Vampire Thrall), while well written and replete with fully realized characters, contains many scenes of explicit gay sex often tinged with sadomasochism. Victor's intense hatred for Christianity may disturb some readers, but Joshu, himself, is always portrayed as loving and caring to all.
