A very interesting read from Louise Hawes for all audiences. It is a cross between fantasy and history. Many seem to believe that this book is linked to feminism, in my opinion it is no where near feminism but instead a representative of women in those times. It is a book meant for story telling and enjoyment and not to be taken too seriously. The book is about Lavinia Fontana a 16th century Italian painter desperate to have her father recognize her talent. She then persuades his least-talented apprentice, Paolo, to pass her work off as his own. When her father realizes her talent he takes her into his studio.
