We got this in addition to the version with the clock (which is fantastic, by the way). My children LOVE lifting the flaps, and this version proved to be a real hit with both of them. If you want to get a child interested in books, start with lift the flap books, because they participate and enjoy it more. But as with all flap books, it can become torn rather quickly with rough little hands, so reinforce the flaps with sticky tape before this starts!
