Being a homeschooling parent, I already have and love The Well-Trained Mind, also by this author. After borrowing this book from the library, I had to purchase it. Even being quite well-read, this offered some great ideas for organising all the thoughts you have when reading a book. It lists, in literary genres, the books/plays/poems the author considers are required reading for a 'well-educated mind.'
