My 8 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with having OCD. This book is a wonderful tool in assisting her to understand that she's not the only person in the world with 'Brain Hiccups' and gives her an explanation of the reasons why she has the thoughts that she does. I agree totally with the review 16/01/2009, and will definitely suggest this book to my daughter's school.
I have read several books in this "What to do when.." series - they are all fantastic! Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in a nutshell for kids! Easy to read and relate to. It empowers children with an understanding of how their mind works, reassuring them that there are plenty of people just like them, and that they have the power to get control of their condition. Very proactive approach. I think no school should be without this series of books!
