A continuation of the "Tomorrow" series, While I Live continues the story of Ellie Linton. When her parents are found brutally murdered, her almost happy and normal life is again made hard. With the strength of old friends and some new ones, she continues to attack the enemy who have already hurt her so much. But then a new enemy emerges, and one which she feels powerless to attack. Her neighbour.
I was initially skeptical of the Ellie Chronicles, seeing them as a continuation of a series that didn't really need to be continued all that much and just another way to flog a dead horse. I was pleasantly surprised, but my expectations were not exceeded that much and the books feel quite contrived. I think maybe this is one for people who want to know what Marsden thought would happen rather than leaving it happily to the imagination.
