I read the immortals serieswhen I was 11 and I loved it. I then moved on to the song of the lioness at 13. Amazing books that shaped the way I saw fantasy fiction. I'm 26 now and since the first time, I re-read it every couple of years. It never gets old.

This was a great book/series that i found to be one of Tamora's best! Seriously if you have not read Tamora's other novels after this one be prepared to want to read them! (I suggest The Lioness series):)

I love this series - it is a real testament to the writing of Tamora Pierce. Daine just wants to run away from the village where she grew up - there was nothing left there for her but a charred building and hunters. She had always been told that she had never had any magic in her, but to her surprise the mage Numair is certain that she does!

I loved it all, absolutely. Daine (Veralideaine Sarrassri) was a great character, especially in that she wasn't as - driven - as Alanna. She had many friends and loved them, had a very bad past, could be selfish and angry but also loveable and brave. I enjoyed that she wasn't a noble, and loved her aptitude with animals. The occasional glimpses of Alanna were brilliant too.

One of the most exciting quartets from this author. Off of her usual style, thyis book does NOT involve a young girl determined and sure of what she wants. Instead, it is about an extremely likeable girl to running away from her past, denying her present and yet desperately searching for a future. A feel-good book with the added bonus of friendship, magic; and some old characters as side-people. It is extremely interesting seeing these people from some-body else's point of veiw, too. A brilliant book.

Ever wish you could talk to animals? Ever feel lost and out of place? Ever think that you have a special ability just waiting to be found?
Then read this book!
Daine answers yes to all these questions and many more of the like. Wild magic is not widely known in the world of Tortal, but those who do have it reallly connects to animals - they can understand them. Daine is just that little more special, but to find out just how special - you'll have to read the book!
Wild magic is the first quartet of the Imortals, written by Tamora Pierce, the queen of fantasy! Join Daine, Numair - and the now older Sir Alanna the Lioness on yet another wonderful adventure...
If you like Harry Potter, you'll be guaranteed to enjoy this!

Wild magic is the first book in the Immortals Quartet (Sequel to Song of The Lioness Quartet), and is about a young girl named Daine on her Quest to come to grips with her wild magic that allows her to communicate with animals. This thrilling story keeps you on the edge of your seat for every page as you feel her hopes and sorrows, anger and love. I can't help but find myself yelling at the book to try and help Daine to find the right path. I recommend this book to all. ^^

I have only just discovered the books of Tamora Pierce, and I wish I had sooner. It is rare to encounter such imagery and a flow of imagination. Every girl, in their heart of hearts wishes she could talk to animals, and Daine the heroine can do just this. A beautiful, wild story that any fantasy reader will enjoy over and over again.
