Elves and fairies share their Woodland Wisdom to help you move your life forward in positive ways. The Woodland Wisdom Oracle deck is comprised of 29 vibrantly-illustrated cards; 24 Working Wisdom Cards for inspirational guidance, and five Gold Power Cards to reinforce the power delivered by these messengers. The 48-page booklet provides a description for each card, along with a special inspirational message, and sample readings.
I received this newly released deck today and I'm delighted with the cards. Unusually there are 29 cards. It's the first thing I do on opening any new deck: check that all the cards are there. Although I do buy a lot of decks which, of course, increases my chances of having a deck with a card missing from it, but this has happened to me beyond the law of averages, so I was pleased to learn on counting 29 cards that this was in fact the number of cards in this particular deck! Ah, 29 = 11, a master number. And that is a simple way of summing up the thinking behind the decision that there be 29 cards. Or, as Frances Munro has expressed it in the accompanying 45 page LWB, "The most significant number of all numbers is number 1, which is powerful overall, and yet the number 11 is equally of power as it brings a restorative magic to rebuilding and directs power toward revitalisation and change".
The LWB contains suggestions on how to work with the cards, and interpretations of each card and biographical details about both the writer and the illustrator. The cards have been illustrated by Peter Pracownik who also created the Imperial Dragon Oracle, the Dragon Tarot and the Lord of the Rings Tarot.
At this stage, from my first impression of these delightfully illustrated cards, I am confident I shall enjoy working with them. The card on the box is the Dragonfly Fairy and the completely reversible image on the back of the cards features four dragonflies in a circular arrangement, surrounded by another circle containing mushrooms or toadstools of various sizes. Some of the other cards are the Elm Tee Elf, the Fairy of Dawn Awakening, the Fairy of Evening Dusk, the Fairy of Golden Light, the Fairy of the Woodland Realm, the Foxglove Fairy, the Leprechaun, the Oak Elf, the Spirit of the Mighty Oak and the Elfin Duke.
