Think of Keri Smith's "Wreck This Journal" as the anarchist's Artist's Way - the book for those who've always wanted to draw outside the lines but were afraid to do it. For anyone who's ever wished to, but had trouble starting, keeping, or finishing a journal or sketchbook comes "Wreck This Journal", an illustrated book featuring a subversive collection of suggestions, asking readers to muster up their best mistake - and mess-making abilities to fill the pages of the book (and destroy them). Through a series of creatively and quirkily illustrated prompts, acclaimed artist Keri Smith encourages journalers to engage in 'destructive' acts - poking holes through pages, adding photos and defacing them, painting with coffee, colouring outside the lines, and more - in order to experience the true creative process. With Keri Smith's unique sensibility, readers are introduced to a new way of art and journal making, discovering novel ways to escape the fear of the blank page and fully engage in the creative process. Bestselling author Keri Smith is a freelance illustrator by trade, and has illustrated for the "Washington Post", "The New York Times", "Ford Motor Company", "People", "The Body Shop" and "Hallmark". She is the author of "Wreck This Journal", "How to be an Explorer of the World" and "Mess: The Manual of Accidents and Mistakes". She lives in Canada.

Love this idea and book. Wish I had written it. It seems simple enough, to wreck a book, but this is really freeing creatively speaking. The book gives permission for adults to play, to be sacrilegious with something most hold quite precious. Use it to de-stress or remember the toddler in you who scribbled over kids books with crayons. Free your inner destroyer!
!!! This book is sooo much fun and I totally recommend it to anyone who likes to make a mess of things - but even more so for people who have to have things in order. I got this book about a year ago and I am one of those people who likes things to be just so. It took a bit of getting used to (destroying a journal), but now I am almost obsessed with the idea of making this journal the messiest thing you can find! This is really neat and great for the person who has everything.
Are u suffering from obsessive book caring and dont wont any one to borrow your books cause you think they will breack them.
well this is the book for you!!
this book is everything fun, crazy, messy and everything all jumbled together,
From scribbling like crazy over text to burning your page.
other fun things to do include spilling coffee, sharing your dinner aaand much more
