From an elite Special Operations physical trainer, an ingeniously simple, rapid-results, do-anywhere program for getting into amazing shape For men and women of all athletic abilities! As the demand for Special Operations military forces has grown over the last decade, elite trainer Mark Lauren has been at the front lines of preparing nearly one thousand soldiers, getting them lean and strong in record time. Now, for regular Joes and Janes, he shares the secret to his amazingly effective regimen--simple exercises that require nothing more than the resistance of your own bodyweight to help you reach the pinnacle of fitness and look better than ever before. Armed with Mark Lauren's motivation techniques, expert training, and nutrition advice, you'll see rapid results by working out just thirty minutes a day, four times a week--whether in your living room, yard, garage, hotel room, or office. Lauren's exercises build more metabolism-enhancing muscle than weightlifting, burn more fat than aerobics, and are safer than both, since bodyweight exercises develop balance and stability and therefore help prevent injuries. Choose your workout level--Basic, 1st Class, Master Class, and Chief Class--and get started, following the clear instructions for 125 exercises that work every muscle from your neck to your ankles. Forget about gym memberships, free weights, and infomercial contraptions. They are all poor substitutes for the world's most advanced fitness machine, the one thing you are never without: your own body.

Absolutely brilliant book, really well written, funny and clever.
I have tried all sorts of bodybuilding/weight-loss books and this one is definitely the best and most effective.
My family of 4 have only been using it for a month now and already we feel stronger/more toned more energetic.
He is a quite achiever, its about just doing it, no pushing gym equipment or protein powder products.
I would definitely recommend it.
This book makes a lot of sense. Reading the chapters at the beginning of the book give a good insight into the workings of the body in regard to how the body uses energy and how different methods of exercise benefit the body. It also talks about nutrition basics setting up a good understanding of the body before you begin the exercises. The exercises are designed to be adapted to suit a beginner through to advanced. it also has a section outlining 4 different 10 week programs using the exercises in the book, once again starting at beginner level through to advanced. After only 2 days following the beginner program, exercising 30 minutes each day, one day upper body, the next lower and core, I am feeling muscles I didn't know existed. Even though it didn't target my abs, they feel like they've had the best workout ever! Each exercise covers a group of muscles rather than targeting a single muscle. I am looking forward to the results as I continue with the program.
I purchased this book last year. It really is an excellent, no nonsense, easy to follow guide to getting fit. The programs that he includes are dead easy to follow and even easier to achieve. I like that you can do ALL of the exercises at home without any special equipment. I still can't get over that I don't need to do as much cardio as I thought I had to!! I am getting a lot of results from the programs. Also there is a big section on just the exercises with photos and full description of how to properly perform each one. So if you can mix your program up a little if you want. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is keen to get in shape and tone up even if you don't want to be a body builder.
wow i have to try these i cant do the old school kind due to a car acnedict messed up my neck and and lower lumbar but i have been doing ballet and using a thereband for strengthening my body on off class days when you do these do you think hey i need to engage my inner and outer abs while ur doing the actual exercise? to get it to work better or just do them? my abs have always been a hard one for me and im a personal trainer lol but i like ur ideas..if would be awesome if you could relply
Great book with easy step guide to the exercises. Personally, I think it would have been nicer with coloured illustrations. If you are a beginner make sure you take care not to overdo the exercises and make sure you follow the guidelines for appropriate level of fitness/strength. Overall a great value for money book.
