Microsoft's full-body controller for Xbox 360 – Kinect – gets its party on with Game Party: In Motion from Warner Bros. Games.
The games compendium includes sixteen different activities that can be played using the Kinect controller. The games and their associated mini-games include: Hoop Shoot, Darts, Rootbeer Tapper, Table Hockey.
Gamers will be able to include their own avatars on-screen in the game in both single and multi-player modes. The latter features up to 16 players in tournament mode. Gaming can also be taken online for head-to-head battles against friends and family with two to four-players able to get involved at any one time.
Playing means getting points and achievements – so details such as personal high scores, unlocked items and even tickets won by the gamer are stored with the Xbox Gamertag and profile. These can then be published for all the world – or just selected friends – to see using the built-in Facebook integration. Other Xbox 360 owning friends will also be alerted to achievements in Game Party: In Motion when online.

I'm not familiar with WB making decent games, but I nonetheless had hopes that GPiM could provide some good old fashioned entertainment. It has an impressive lineup of games including darts, horseshoes, and skee ball. The menu system/navigation went for simplicity and is fairly easy to work through once you get the hang of activating the confirm and cancel commands. To confirm, you hold your right hand around waist level without extending the arm. You can put your hand directly off to the side, a little in front of your or behind you. Cancel is the same with the left hand; if you had to extend your arm, it would conflict with the system pause, so this slightly odd position is to maintain consistency which is NOT itself a bad thing. More on that in a bit.
