A beautifully presented game in terms of graphics and story. It can be described as an interactive movie in which the player is the director as well as the actor/actress - you control the pace, the plot direction, all the while being presented with a mystery that entertains the story craving part of the mind. Choices you make throughout the game will change the subsequent plot events as well as the ultimate ending making replay value high.
Gameplay is the simple following of on screen button pushing or controller tilting prompts - difficulty of getting it right comes from your reaction times to the prompts and difficulty can be adjusted.
A highly enjoyable, highly realistic game for the player seeking a more mature gaming exprerience in unearthing a story through rather mundane-seeming actions and speech, as opposed to guns, monsters, cars, swords ablazing entertainment. (Though there is a small amount of gunplay and drving). A good addition to the game repertoire.

The goal of every story is to form some degree of connection with its observer. Most often, this link is fleeting at best, but every now and then, a much deeper bond is formed. This bond is one in which the observer is less of a passive participant and more of an emotionally engaged accomplice. Though many video games (as well as most novels and movies) strive to be the latter, Heavy Rain is one of those few games that can claim to have truly achieved this lofty objective. A powerful interactive drama, Heavy Rain is an intensely absorbing experience that meticulously conveys the tension, urgency, surprise, and tragedy that its characters feel. Though the overall direction of the plot cannot be changed, the ongoing narrative adapts to your every action and cultivates a deeply personal journey that leaves everyone who undertakes it with something different.

A truly strange, yet brilliant game. Heavy Rain is less of a game and more of an interactive movie. The cutscenes, if you can call them that, are extremely well done. Occasionally, the game forces you to make a moral choice, the possible outcomes of which can alter the course of the game. This mechanic is extremely well executed and makes for fascinating gameplay.
Boasting a unique style and an intriguing story, there is much to like in Heavy Rain. Highly recommended.
