LittleBigPlanet was the great white hope for the PS3 in 2008, and it was highly acclaimed and won many awards for it's innovative user creation tools. While LBP may not have achieved quite the commercial success that many people thought it deserved, it was certainly enough of a hit to warrant a PSP version... and that's exactly what we have here. The game combines a friendly and funny tutorial voiced by the King of Twitter himself, Steven Fry, with a fun and frantic platform game that facilitates co-operative play. But the real meat of LBP was the level and object creators, which gave users the power to produce and share some pretty incredible user generated content. Some people were concerned that Sony might not be able to squeeze all that creative goodness into the PSP's tiny form factor... but the god news is that they have.

LittleBigPlanet PSP, is the same BigPlanet, only slightly smaller. The graphics look as lovely on the tiny screen as they do on the PS3, of course they are lower resolution, and have lower polygon count, but viewed on the PSP's screen rather than a 42" HD plasma, these facts barely show, and the game looks incredible. The controls have ported over well, the loss of the extra shoulder buttons only meaning that you can't control Sackboy's hands independently, which was a fun aspect of the PS3 game, but merely a novelty, and not at all essential to the control method.

Everything else is almost untouched... There's all manner of swinging, grabbing and balancing platform fun to be had, not to mention mini-gaming goodness. Plus stickers... there are stickers to be collected. And levels to be created and shared with other players. But more than just a port of the PS3 version, LBP PSP has new and unique content, not previously seen in the PS3 version, so it will appeal to new players and fans of the franchise too.
