The spiritual sequel to the hugely popular New Super Mario Bros. DS, New Super Mario Bros. Wii features classic 2D Mario game-play with 3D, pre-rendered characters and lovely, highly detailed backgrounds.
The premise will be fairly familiar to anyone who's played a Mario game before - Princess Peach has been snatched away by Bowser and it’s down to Mario to save her.
This time, however, he won't be doing it all on his lonesome. The big deal this time around though is the inclusion of four-player play. We don't say co-op or competitive play because adding extra players to a Mario game doesn’t necessarily lead to team work or combat. Instead Nintendo has tried to balance the game so that in some parts you feel compelled to help each other and in some you will want to fight over certain items and prizes. It’s a very dynamic experience, enabling players to take on the role of Mario, Luigi or one of the Toads.
New goodies to be grabbed in the game include a propeller suit that enables you to fly and hover, picking up a fellow player if you feel like it, and a new penguin suit that will let you fling ice balls at enemies or slide around on your belly at high speeds across stretches of ice!
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is also the first game to feature what Nintendo is calling the 'dynamic help system'. If players are finding the going a bit tough, they can hand over to the AI at any point, watching how a level is done then jumping back into the fray at any point!

Mario and Luigi are back, on the Wii & fantastic!! If you were a fan of all the old school Super Mario Bros, or even the New Super Mario DS you will love love love this game. Not only does it incorporate all the old school music and themes, it also has lots of new aspects that utilize the Wiimote and really gets you into the game. A definate must for all Mario fans... No, wait, I lie - a definate must for everyone that owns a Wii.
This is BRILLIANT! It's been a long time since we had such fun, it really brings back memories of the old days of Mario.

Brilliant game - I've made it through to world 9 - now collecting all the gold coins to unlock the worlds. Love the multi-player feature except when a 12 yr old kept killing me off! I brought it to distract me while very sick - it's done the job and I'm still playing it whenever I can.
This has got to be one of the best Mario games I have played on the Wii. The best new inclusion in this game is multiplayer. Up to 4 players can play at the same time and go through levels together. Some of the levels are well suited to multiplayer and play quite well. You can get hours of fun playing this game with your friends or you can even go it alone. I just can't wait for the sequel to this game. A definate must have for all you Mario fans out there.
Bringing back old school platform games, with the same controls & feel of the old Mario games, but with better graphics, more game controls using the Wii remote (Tilting, lifts, shakes, etc) and you can play up to 4 players!
This really brought back memories, and I'm still stuck on the second Map, and it looks like I have 8 or 9 more maps to go! This will literally take me AGES to complete.
This is a very good game for nitendos ds and dsi and Wii.
