I bought this for my mum to help her with her bad back and so far so good. She uses it almost every evening and she reports that the heat lasts for about 2 hours. It literally only takes seconds to heat up to a very comfortable temperature. To decrystallize the pad, I place it in a large saucepan with boiling water. The directions indicate that the pad should be placed on a towel within the saucepan. Any old teatowel or even pillowcase will do. At first I thought that the boiling process would be a pain, but it's quicker than you would think and no fuss at all. Overall a good product that I would recommend.
I had a few sports injuries and this product has helped me in my ways. It stays heated for a while and easy to reuse. I recommend anyone whom has sports injuries or just need to relax after a long day.
Although this sounds like a good concept in theory, the process really needs some tweeking for it to become a really viable product...
The heating up process is good and the first time is really amazing actually, but the 2-2 1/2 hour time frame is pushing it and then you get to the re-animating process. After man-handling the rock hard pad into a large enough pan of boiling water for about 15 minutes and some 4th degree burns in the process, finally it looked clear and ok to use again but unfortuantely the process didn't take!!
Back to the boiling water again and for longer this time I guess....
Luckily I got this one when it was on special (about $15), otherwise I'd be might p***ed off and looking for someones head to kick.
