An excellent entry level SLR camera, I'm running the 550D EOS at the moment but it's only recent that I had upgraded from the EOS 1000D (mainly because my cousin wanted to buy mine and I went out and bought a new one) and the difference is minimal if any at all. The pictures are sharp on the EOS 1000D, the unit is packed to the rim with features and the camera is ruggard as the SLRs come (not that ruggard in the big picture however). Great little package and with the additional lens excellent value for money.
