You will either love this or hate this, i loved it, perfect action and fight scenes, unpredictable and although some of this movie was historically correct it still manages to get a laugh from me, seeing some of the Persian's monstrosities, i suppose they are a metaphor embodied within. never underestimate a spartan, Greek or an Arcadian even without a weapon these guys would destroy any foe given half the chance!

A unique filmic treatment of Frank Miller’s graphic novel 300, itself a loosely based adaptation of the Battle of Thermopylae, considered one of the most famous last stands in history. It depicts the events leading up to the Battle from the Spartan King’s perspective as his force of 300 prepares to take on thousands of Persians. While the film looks realistic, it maintains a surreal illustrative feel to it as well, primarily thanks to the vast array of visual effects, ensuring the spectacular nature of both the story and its presentation

The creators of this movie certainly did Frank Miller Proud - it was a visual feast - however, I did find myself getting a wee bit bored with the whole thing. The effects and production are good, but the colouring of the film did leave me feeling like I needed a break - there wasn't much change in background and focus. If you enjoy a reasonably mindless film which is well shot with plenty of action then this is for you (although we aren't talking Bruce Willis sugar coating here). Not one for you if violence gets to you - although I have to say that it was completely relevant in this case. Overall, pretty good, but probably could have been a bit shorter and a bit more interesting in the story department.

This is definetly one of the best action movies I've ever watched.
In my opinion the setting of this movie, the dark, sinister setting exactly reflects the graphic novel by Frank Miller... The Action is just incredible and it makes you wanna watch the movie over and over again.
The speeches that are between the big action sequences give the spectator the oppurtunity to take a breath and prepare for the next sequence.
After all, I would say "300" set a new standard in action movies and especially the ending gives the spectator the opportunity to speculate.

Awesome! It is a really great watch! I mean the comic was great, and the movie really captures it well too! I really enjoyed the movie (not just those half naked men with their 8 packs abs. Haha *drools*) But I truly enjoyed the special effects, the impact of it. Honestly, it's a must watch. Although have to say that it's really gory. So be prepared to see a lot of blood and limbs.

This is a fantastic interpretation of Frank Miller's graphic novel "300", maintaining the comic-style techniques of camera framing, narration and film coloring. The narrative itself is famous: Spartan King, Leonidas, takes 300 warriors (his personal guard) to Thermopylae in order to hold off the million-strong army raised by Xerxes, King of Persia. Those who don't enjoy war-violence in their films might find themselves pleasantly surprised by "300" as the violence is very stylized, nothing like the graphic style of recent WW2 epics (like "Saving Private Ryan" and the like).
You'll want to watch it again and again!

one of the best action movies i have seen in a long time! 300 is an epic tale of the king who took 300 men against ten thousand persians- gerard butler is one of the most extra ordinary actors i have ever seen, and the whole cast's amzing commitment to the characters is some thing no movie goer should miss
