48HOURS is officially NZ's largest film competition!
It's a cinematic boot camp but instead of drill sergeant screaming obscenities at you it's the constant tick-tocking of the countdown clock. 48HOURS is a serious challenge for both first time filmmakers through to experienced directors. Filmmaking teams have just one weekend to make a short film.

The 48 hr film competition is a great New Zealand Tradition! Teams are given 48 hrs to complete their films from start to finish in an effort to show their talent to the world. Most of what comes out is hilarious, sometimes moving and almost always strange. Without the time to think about what people think it seems that what comes out is a mash-up of the teams wildest dreams of what cinema should be. Anyone who loves NZ cinema should have a look at these.
