for me, it fell a long way short of reaching the grand and epic goals it seemed to be aiming for. there were some very odd choices in editing which made it seem kinda choppy and unclimactic. there were definite pacing issues. a much grander score would've helped a lot, but for many scenes there was no music at all. the idea of doing the entire film in motion-capture CGI was very successful for some (action) scenes and quite limiting for the other 85% of the film.
