Not the best season of Bones - the Gormogon thread was pretty silly and what they did to Zach was unforgiveable - but the usual pleasures still abound: the sexual tension between Booth and Brennan continues to crackle; the on-going relationship between Hodgins and Angea is a delight; as are the ever-present banter and wit. A wonderful series - the fourth season just keeps getting better and better.
I've been a fan of Bones since it's first episode, and before that with Kathy Reich's books. This season was phenomenal ... fantastic storylines, the intriguing season-long 'Gormagon' cannibal plot, and fans finally get to see some increased tension and, let's just say without ruining it for you some RELEASE of that tension between Bones and Booth. The only negative to this box set is that it's too short ... the first 2 seasons were 21 or 22 episodes each, but this one has only 15. I'm not sure if that's a result of the Writer's Guild Strike, but if it isn't then the fans got duped a bit by the creators/producers. If it is, then it's understandable, but disappointing. There was so much more they could have done to explore the relationship between Bones and Booth, the newcomer Dr Sweets (who is geeky but intriguing) and even the Gormagon story ... it seemed a bit rushed at the end to tie it all up. Very enjoyable though, and I await the next season anxiously.
I love Bones, it's a really great show. I normally can't want horrors and all that cause of the blood and gore, but Bones isn't like that for me despite all the murder victims. Season 3 is definitely a great season, new plot lines and new discoveries. And the chemistry between Booth and Brennan is smoking hot.
