Detective Frank Bullit's new assignment seems routine: protecting a star witness for an important trial. But before the night is out, the witness lies dying and the cool, no-nonsense Bullitt (Steve McQueen) won't rest until the shooters - and the kingpin pulling their strings - are nailed. From opening shot to closing shoot out, Bullitt crackles with authenticity: on-location San Francisco filming, crisp dialogue and to-the-letter police, hospital and morgue procedures. An Oscar winner for Best Film Editing (1968), this razor-edged thriller features one of cinema history's most memorable car chases. Buckle up...and brace for unbeatable action.

A detective is sent by a politician to catch a big-time gangster, so he can procure him before a Senate crime committee for selfish gain. When the gangster is bumped off before this can happen, the detective and the politico clash with each other. Great movie! ABOSULTELY AWESOME!!!! definetely worth buying, action packed and full of action =?
Bullitt is a sixties classic and one of iconic star Steve Mcqueen's best roles. The story is a cool lean excerise in style with no excess and an icy plausibility to it, about a tough cop chasing the truth in San Francisco. Features what remains one of the great cinematic car chases through San Francisco.
Bullitt sees Steve McQueen take on a rare (or his only?) detective film role. This film is very realistic, a little slow paced at times, but nonetheless solid. I know it is brought up all the time, but that car chase through the steep streets of San Francisco is stunning.
A classic sixties cool film, that is actually a pretty average film...
Still, the soundtrack is cool, with a funky blend of jazz, brass and percussion. But come on... the film is most famous for its 11 minute car chase - with no music and Bullit's car - a beautiful "Highland Green" 1968 Ford Mustang GT-390 - losing five hubcaps! Steve McQueen is cool, cool, cool - a great film to have in your collection.
