1950s western from writer-director Rod Amateau. Soldier Jefferson Waring (John Ireland) returns home to Independence, Missouri, after the American Civil War determined to live a peaceful and quiet life. Trouble brews in the city, however, when tyrannical ranch owner Artemus Taylor (Lon Chaney Jr) and his henchmen attempt to drive the settlers away so they can use the land for a new railway. Waring must forfeit his new laid-back lifestyle in order to protect his home town and put a stop to Taylor's scheme. |
