Prepare to enter another world when Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media present C.S. Lewis timeless and beloved epic adventure. With the stunningly realistic special effects, youll experience the exploits of Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter, four siblings who find the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of hide-and-seek at the country estate of a mysterious professor.
Once there, the children discover a charming, once peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has been turned into a world of eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. Aided by the wise and magnificent lion Aslan, the children lead Narnia into a spectacular, climactic battle to be free of the Witchs glacial powers forever.
This is a fantastic family movie. Other reviewers have criticised it for not being as good as LOTR, but if you just watch the movie without making comparisons - if you just accept it for what it is (it's not a LOTR wannabe) it makes for great viewing.
Andrew Adamson does a great job adapting the book for film, and I am happy to say that this film retains much of the magic of C. S. Lewis's classic. Performances from all of the child actors are superb, particularly the adorable Georgie Henley as Lucy Pevensie. Scottish actor James McAvoy also puts in a wonderful performance as the faun Mr Tumnus.
This was an ok movie, however I have never read the books, so I do not really have anything to compare it with. I did watch one of the cartoon movies of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and I really liked that when I was young. I think the computer generated imagery of the movie really lets it down. It could have been done so much better (i.e. Peter Jackson stylie).
This was a great movie- something you can watch over and over again. It comes from the book- The cronicles of Narnia, The lion, the witch and the wardrobe. This movie has a lot of detail and action. The actors and creatures they used made this movie so great.
I enjoyed watching this movie and I would recommend it for any ages.
I have never read the book but I still enjoyed the movie. Brilliant 3D work on the lion! I'm amazed on how well they did the lip sync! It's amazing! But I have to say though, there are a few scenes which I didn't particulary like in terms of the techniques... I found there are a few scenes which were so transparant that audience could read on how it was done behind the scene. But anyway, I still enjoyed the movie. TWO THUMBS UP for the ANIMATION! LOVE IT!
I am surprised there are not moe reviews praising this movie. The movie did a very good job of staying quite true to the book, and catching the essence of the scenes Lewis was creating. The story itself is inspiring as it helps you to recall the faith of a child and hte adventure that life is supposed to be. I enjoyed how the beavers especially reminded the kids that Narnia needed them to be who they were supposed to be. The actors played their roles well according to what the characters are like in the book. Susan was supposed to be annoying because she was like that in the book...the final battle of the movie is done well and you wish it would have been longer like Lord of the Rings. This movie is excellent and worth showing to your kids when they are old enough. Also inspiring for adults. Pretty good price here too.
I dont know why people would compare this to harry potter or Lord of the rings because they have minimal in common except the came from a book (like tonnes of other holly wood blockbusters) but i didnt enjoy it much, kids may love it but i just didnt really like ti very much, and i loved the harry potter films
i thought this movie was great! i love the books of narnia and was pleased with how this movie covered most of the key events in the book, compared to something like harry potter which misses out HUGE chunks. overall i really enjoyed it and i think you will too!
A good film, but not as epic as LOTR, which was an obvious influence. Strange that the film was lambasted for its Christian symbolism, as some key parts of Lewis's book (e.g. Aslan's description of the Deeper Magic) were changed for the movie. All manner of creatures feature, from good centaurs to bad minotaurs, and Aslan is cool (but should have been bigger!), and wisely voiced by Liam Neeson. The kids did well too (altohugh Susan was annoying...)
mm this was a quite good movie, however i feel it was not as good as the BBC version. peter was HOT AS HELL though, which really made me enjoy the movie. susan was annoying as, so if you watch this be prepared for that. lucy was cute, edmond was also anoying, but having said that did a good job of acting.
