This is probably my favoutite gangsta movie of all time. It has sean penn acting as some hardass cop whos trying to rid the gangs from the streets of la. this is the first movie ever to show crips and bloods gangs the father of scla movies. It is made in like 1987 or something like that and i cant belive how long this crips and blood stuff has been going on for.
A very very good movie which shows Robert Duval give his usual great performance and shows Sean Penn doing his dominating intense bad guy thing. The great thing about this movie is its grittyness and its firm hold on reality as the movie moves to its sad conclusion and its incredibly poignant ending which shows a lot more depth than your average good cop bad cop movie.
