Transformers is more that meets the eye. This exciting live action motion picture tells the compelling saga of the Transformers giant sentient beings (robots with feelings) from a distant planet who must disguise their identities as cars, planes, and otherwise ordinary electronic equipment on Earth. Locked in battle for an energy source hidden on Earth, the peaceful Autobots fight the evil Decepticons who are determined to take over the universe with their technology. Integral to the plot are Sam (Shia LaBeouf) and Mikaela (Megan Fox), two high school students, who unknowingly hold the key to the Transformers elusive energy source. Its a fight to the finish of good versus evil, Autobot vs. Decepticon, man versus Machine, as our teams band together to defeat the Decepticons and save the Earth.

I remember transformers when I was young, I also remember how I really didn't like my brothers love of them, being a girl I was more interested in barbie anyway, so it was no surprise that when this movie first came out I wasn't bothered going to see it. My friends tried their hardest to get me to atleast check it out but I refused, until a friend hired it out one evening and due to having nothing better to do I sat down to watch what I thought would be a waste of time...
I was wrong... I fell inlove with bumblebee and cried when they tortured him, I admired optimus prime for being such an honourable being and I laughed at all the antics this movie threw at me. In simple words I LOVED IT!
What a brilliant film! I was so surprised when this came out - I remember Transformers as a wee girl and while it wasn't my favourite show, I was eager to see how the film turned out. This is a serious Blockbuster. Awesome special effects which have translated very well from the big screen to DVD format - the sound quality is amazing too. They have done this so well that you actually find yourself seeing the Transformers as human like characters. The story line, while not earth shattering, has enough going for it to keep the pace up which is surprising as films like this are usually all about the effects with the plot being secondary. Buy this and crank up the home cinema - definitely best watched with the sub woofer!
As a fan of transformers since a young age, i worried that they were going to create this film and destroy the transformers image into a hollywood piece of crap. however they did the opposite, fantasitc special effects, great storyline, this movie would have to be one of the best for 2007. cant wait to see number 2
It does what it says on the tin. As Orson Welles (whose last role was in the big-screen adaptation of the cartoon series) said, it's a bunch of big toys fighting with a bunch of smaller toys. Still, it's done entertainingly and never tries to be anything it's not. A youthful cast lends the token human touch, while Jon Voight appears in an attempt to add gravitas to the movie. The special effects are spectacular, while the film does not outstay its welcome. It's got franchise written all over it, but as far as big, dumb action flicks go, that might not be a bad thing.
