This is a great movie for those children with good imaginations. Some scary scenes that younger children may need to cover their eyes for, but a beautiful story.

I'm afraid this movie is a never-ending stretch of.. boredom and apathy. The plot, characters and even the special effects are stupid. Maybe the book was better. Maybe it lost something in translation. Nonetheless, certain types of people like this movie but many more [like my relatives] can't stand it. It's like a combination of the most boring, stupid renditions of bastardised fairytales and hallucinatory nightmares. Even the acting isn't very good.

A wonderful adventure, even if it is old! Older kids will enjoy the compelxities of this and maybe even be able to relate some of this to their own world! The song is awesome - really helps - although the dragon thingumy does look really fake. One of those movie which, as a child, I always hoped would actually happen to me!

An iconic film from the 80's; great for its time but not so much now. It goes far too long for a kids flick, and can get confusing. Some of the characters are frustrating more than anything, but are still quite unique. The film has a good idea going, but doesn't know when to quit.

A classic movie no collection is complete without it, the never ending story about a boy who gets sucked into his book called the never ending story, he has a huge pet flying dog in his book, it is a great movie for young and old, it is great all ages will love this movie.

This movie is an oldie but a classic! One of my favourite movies of all time and one of my daughters favourites too. Extremely well acted, superb production values and great special effects. A must see for all movie fans and a must have in your collection if you already a fan of this movie.

Classic! One of my favourite movies of all time! 5 STARS – No DVD collection is complete without this title amongst it. Powerful performances, superb production value with strong clear direction… a masterpiece. A must see for all movie fans, some might not agree with me but this film with live on for many years after the actors have all but been forgotten..... :(

I love this movie and watched it over & over as a child. Still to this day I can watch it more than once.
Truly illustrating the enchantment and magic of books and the imagination of a child.
There is nothing about this movie that is not entertaining and enthralling to a young mind.
The puppetry of this movie, given the time when it was made is splendid.
Follow Bastian with the help of Atreyu and Falcor as he endeavours to save Fantasia from the nothing. The end of their fantasy world that comes from children who no longer believe and use their imagination.
A great movie for the entire family.

An oldie but a goodie, great for the kids and even the adults that saw it when it first came out. I love this film still today. The fact that its a young boy in present time gives you the imagination that all these events can happen to you... and I still hold hope. hehe The special effects are fabulous and even better than some new CGI movies I reckon. It also extends the emotions of a young viewer taking them through all emotions of happiness, freight, suspense, sadness and joy. I highly recommend this great movie for the family and adults how just love fantasy or is that real stories.

Finally, the truth about stories. The fact is, nothing ever really ends, and thusly, someone had to say so. That's what this movie does, and it does it ever so elegantly. A young boy, who knows so much about the "Lord Of The Rings", and "Beowulf" is about to find out something more real as he borrows a mystical book he finds enchanting. the even more powerful fact, is that once the book is opened, it will never close. Just as life never really ends on this earth, neither to stories. The book, titled "The Never Ending Story", is about Fantasia, a world that is dying, and an unbelievably horrifying substance known as "The Nothing", is enclosing it. A young warrior must face the danger of finding a cure. On earth, or in the book, life is intertwined to reach the ultimate answer to a young boys fears, and a young warriors quest. Film is full of some really lovable characters such as Falkor, the luck dragon, and the Rock Biter. Then, there is the Gmorg, whom I believe, is the most wretched creature in cinema. That thing is scary! In any case, film starts out as colorful and mystical, and grows dark and nightmarish with every scene, leading to a wonderful message about the substance that keeps Fantasia , and every other world out there, alive. Beautiful, just beautiful. A classic.
