this was a very cool film in its time however it hasn't held it's comedic value over the years. Great movie for the kids any way how ever the adults might want to do something else for a while. My only real disappointment was that they should have used an Indain guy to play the Indian guy. Overal I enjoyed the film.

Fanastic 80's movie that I used to watch as a kids seeing this again brings back a lot of fun memories.
You will love it. Grab the popcorn and sitdown for a great movie weekend.
Some classically hilarious lines that you will find yourself using during the day. Laugh a lot. Its a great comedy that the whole family will watch over and over again.

great movie! really captured my heart the first time i watched it, andf not just my heart, but my familys heart as well. if you like movies of this genre then you will definatley enjoy this film! if i was a teacher, then i would be giving this film an A+++++++ definatly something you should all go out and spend ur money on!

Family film about a robot who gets a power surge and escapes from the military facility it came from and learns about life, after it starts to believe it is alive. Predictable at times, despite being targeted at children it is loaded with jokes that will go over their heads. Has some pretty good animatronics, and will no doubt keep the kids quiet for 90 minutes.

One of the best comedies of the 1980s, Short Circuit is about a robot killing machine who discovers his humanity. The themes here are very similar to those common to more serious science fiction like Star Trek, and the film actually manages to be quite moving in parts. A great comedy that will appeal to adults and youngsters alike.

This is an amusing movie that epitomizes its era well. The acting is typical of its time but the storyline is something that has been revisited in so many different movies. Johnny 5 and the development of his "coming to life" is touching but the movie is more amusing then dramatic or "striking the chord". I would own this so my kids could enjoy it but would probably be content with occasionally catching it on T.V. every 4 years or so

Brilliant movie, an absolute classic. This was one of my favourite movies when I was younger and the story has lost none of its' charm in the itntervening years. Great movie for the whole family, even teenage boys will like this one. Number 5 is alive and kicking, a must have for your DVD collection.

Classic! One of my favourite movies of all time! 5 STARS – No DVD collection is complete without this title amongst it. Powerful performances, superb production value with strong clear direction… a masterpiece. A must see for all movie fans, some might not agree with me but this film with live on for many years after the actors have all but been forgotten...........

This movie is an interesting watch for both the kiddies and all the adults who are forced to watch movies with them. Short Circuit is about the escape of number 5 and the scientist who wants him back. It is interesting, a bit sci fi for me but the kiddies seemed to enjoy it which is the main thing.

Number Five is Alive.. well sometimes.. Great movie for the kids, as for the adults, something to watch on a rainy day. My only real disappointment was that they should have used an Indain guy to play the Indian guy, but this actor does a fairly good job. As for the love story. i think that should stay in Love story movies and not light sci fi family movies. Like I said its cool for the kids especially ones that like robots and the likes. perhaps give them some ideas.
