Based on Ann Brashares' best selling novel, The Sisterhood Of The Travelling Pants tells the story of a very special summer in the lives of four friends who are separated for the first time.
On a shopping trip together, the young women find a pair of op-shop jeans that fits each of them perfectly. They decide to use these "magic" pants as a way of keeping in touch over the months ahead, each one wearing the jeans for a week to see what luck they bring, before sending them on to the next.
Though miles apart, the four friends still experience life, love and loss together in a summer they'll never forget.

I read the book before the movie and am not a huge fan of how much they changed it. The casting was great though and believeable. There really did seem to be a close bond of friendship between the four girls. I am quite disappointed as to how Kostos was changed into a guy that the Kaligaris grandparent's didn't like; instead of being thier favourite "grandson". Still; I love the movie and recommend for everyone to read the books too.
Such a great movie. It made me smile, laugh, hope and cry. The stories of these four girls are very real and touching. They each face tragedy and love in their own way. This movie deals with such tough topics as death and divorce in a way that shows there is always hope and friends who stick with you and laugh and cry with you. Every girl can relate to one or more of the characters.
I read the book before I saw the movie and I think the book was by far the better - It described the relationships in much more detail and gave so much more background information. - It was still an enjoyable movie just not as good as the book.
This weekend, for my sisters 16th birthday, I ventured out with my father, mother and of course sister to see a movie. When we arrived at the theater I was briefed on which movie we were going to see, without a doubt thinking it would be some new action packed thriller that my dad, always forced my mom and sister to. I had no clue that we were going to see the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
The worst part of the movie was forcing myself into a theater where I was one of about 6 guys. The rest of the seats were packed with girls of all ages, older women, teens, mothers, college grads, you name it. One would have thought Brad Pitt was making announcement before the show began. In case you didn't know all girls are obsessed with him, especially the ones who deny it.
Anyways the movie began and before I knew it my eyes were glued to the screen. Next thing I knew I was crying, my mom was crying, my sister was crying, and even my dad was crying. I looked around the room and noticed that every girl was sobbing, and of course you know when your watching an amazing movie when it causes such emotion. When it changes the way you feel and enlightens you in unbelievable ways.
So the moral of the story: All the women out there grab your girlfriends, or better yet your husbands, boyfriends, or whomever and drag them to this film, they will say they'll hate it, but they will love it!
gosh!! i really loved this movie! every bit and second of it! it has a great moral and message. its about 4 friends that finds this magical pants that ironically fits all of them and they are all in different sizes. they swore to keep the pants and be worn wherever they are, the pants travelled to greece to spain etc. the pants became part of their harships, love, crying, and fun times!!!
i recommend this movie hundred percent! im sure you and the girls would love this flick and also the family. you will realize the real meaning of friendship!! i truly loved it!!
Wow i loved this movie first time i saw it was on Sky Movies. Wow i loved the actresses in this movie they are know but not the well. Its about a pair of pants that they for some weird reason they can all fit and they are all very different shapes and sizes. A girls flick so get a group of girls around for the nigh and through this on will make you sad and make you laugh. Fantastic movie
the sisterhood of the travelling pants! this is such a good movie. its about four friends(including the now famous america ferrera from ugly betty!!0. its a very relatable movie as well. i would one hundred and ten percent reccomend this movie!! its well worth the money!
This is such a good movie, and the book is awesome as well. Follows th summer holidays of four girls who are best friends, yet having very different experiences. One of the things that makes this movie so good is that the storylines are all different yet realistic and truly heartwarming. You're sure to have a few tears too, so be warned! Recommended to any female, or male with a feminine side!
this is a truly magical tale, about a pair of pants that fit all four girls, despite their differing body shapes. the girls are perfectly cast, they did a really good job in that area. this movie is both heartwarming and emotional, and if you are a fan of the standard chick flick then this will appeal. plus it does the book justice.
This movie, although it seems like a normal teenage friendship flick (thinking Crossroads here) surprises us all with the in depth storyline within. The four friends arent fighting over boys and clothes like teenage idiots, they are travelling, playing sport, working and being creative. There will be tears so keep the tissues handy and this will inspire you to meet lifelong friends. This movie is a very good one.
