A great finish to the collection, you'd probably have to know the characters to "get it" fully. Worth buying just for Steven Fry's King (Prince?) Charles in the Cavalier Years Bonus.
Originally filmed as a special feature for the Millenium Dome (anyone remember that?), this Blackadder Special manages to reunite most of the original cast from Blackadders 1-4 also gives the writers a chance to have a go at some periods of history that were missed out during the original series. Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson give typically superb performances as Blackadders and Balcricks, supported by excellent cameos throughout history and the convoluted plot also manages to bring in other BBC star shows, namely Walking with Dinosaurs and Doctor Who (you're not telling me that the time machine's not the Tardis!). Highlights include - Robin Hood, Hadrian's Wall, the Battle of Waterloo (from both sides), William Shakespeare getting a good kicking and the final solution to why the dinosaurs became extinct. Overall, it's a great romp in classic Blackadder style with a definitely patriotic flavour. Enjoy!
soooooo funny! i have never laughed so hard before in my life! something to watch with the whole family! and dont forget the popcorn as well! yuuummm! i definatley recommend buying this you will NOT regreat this purchase at all! its oh so funny! u will laugh so hard!
get ready to cry of laughter!
I'm afraid I am going to disagree with the other reviewers-I thought this 'blackadder' outing was fairly average. It relied on old jokes and had no new ideas. I much prefered blackadder's christmas carol and, the two best series of all being the elizabethian and first world war context. Having said all that, it is still very goodcompared to soem comedy stuff around these days
Black Adder at it's best! Filled with lots of hilarious antics involving time machines, famous historical figures such as Shakespeare and Her Royal Highness Queen of England (Think it was Elizabeth I but can't remember). Rowan Atkinson is slide splittingly hilarious as usual. The situations that Black Adder gets himself into will have your mouth aching from smiling and laughing so much.
absolutly helarious black adder special, but then when is balck adde rnot funny, its so cool, blakc adder goes thoruhg time to win a bet (becuase he made a time machine by mistake) and messes up everything, hits shakespear and all sorts of other great stuff, ver very funny and a must have black adder DVD
Blackadder is insanely funny, this is an extra made quite a while after the final season (where blackadder is in world war 1), they decided to do a reunion and get all the people back togethjer and its insanely funny, this is the first blackadder i ever saw and since then have seen every episode, its great
