The gags fly faster than laserblasts in a hilarious, out-of this-world comedy about a band of intergalactic freedom fighters who face off against the forces of darkness.

Along the way, they confront gooey gangster Pizza the Hutt (Voice of Dom DeLuise), sassy robot Dot Matrix (Voice of Joan Rivers) and wise little imp Yogurt (Brooks), who teaches them the mystical power of "the Schwartz" in order to bring Peace - and merchandising rights - to the entire galaxy!

"Spaceballs" is a sci-fi spoof that reserves some fair ribbing for the Star Wars franchise. With the comic genius of Mel Brooks, "Spaceballs" reduced me to choking attempts to sustain life while blowing popcorn from orifices that I would rather not mention.
The great comic acting from the likes of John Candy, Bill Pullman, Mel Brooks and Rick Moranis made the movie something special. It is a great laugh, though nothing high-brow. It is a spoof through and through, and it does that very well.
Dark Helmet (Moranis) really steals the show. Scenes such as that where he is acting out sordid fantasies with some action figures, or when he orders the ship to "ludicrous speed", really make the movie. Moranis was surprisingly good in that role, making Dark Helmet seem like a vindictive 7-year-old. I loved him.
"Spaceballs" is a great laugh, both for the verbal and visual humour, (the huge ship's bumper sticker: "We Brake for No One"). Overall, an awesome spoof and one of the best spoofs I have seen in ages. I loved it and have watched it many a time.
In a galaxy, very far far far and far away. In space, it is ruled by Spaceballs, where in a fascist galaxy that tries to rule any planets and also there are out of air. There's eyes is set on Druidia, a planet that has the cleanest air in the whole galaxy. The Evil Dark Halmet (Rick Moranis) is planning to kidnap a tough spoiled Druish Princess (Daphne Zuniga), if he does success to kidnap her. He will try to use his power to scare King Ronald (Dick Van Patten) to have the code to steal their air. Since Planet Druidia is protected by a large sphere that circle the planet. King Ronald asks the help of a clueless hero for hired (Bill Pullman) and his loyal half dog/half man creature (John Candy) to rescue her. But Dark Helmet and President Skroob of Spaceballs (Mel Brooks) will do anything to steal their air. Directed by Mel Brooks (Blazing Saddles, Robin Hood:Men in Thighs, Young Frankenstein) made an amusingly spoof on Science-Fiction movies like Alien, Star Trek, Star Wars and more. Brooks also appears as a wisp imp named Yogurt. This film went on to be a big success on Video and always finding new fans for the young and old for the last twenty years. At the box office, the picture was only a modest hit. The cast are engaging, especially Candy and Morains have the biggest laughs. Pullman is a hoot in the lead character. Overall, pretty good fun.
Brilliant movie, one of the funniest spoofs of all time, mel brooks is a freakjing genius and this just prooves why agin and agin and again, the best bit is wher the radar gets "jamed", raspberry, only on person would dare give me the raspberry, lone star, its so funny for any one and everyone, i cant see it offending no one
Typical Mel Brooks spoof; this time Star Wars is getting a good mocking. A good cast and funny script make this very easy to enjoy, and although Brooks has done a lot of spoofs, the jokes in here are all fresh and original. Fans of Dracula Dead and Loving It will get a kick out of this.
