Based on Gail Carson Levine's award winning novel, this is the story of Ella 9Anne Hathaway), a young woman who was given a "gift" of obedience by a fairy named Lucinda (Vivica A. Fox). Anything anyone tells her to do, she must obey. When her mother passes away, Ella is cared for by her thoughtless and greedy father who remarries a loathsome woman with two treacherous daughters. This modern-day, fantasy Cinderella features fairies, ogres and elves...as well as a hero in the guise of Prince Charmont (Hugh Dancy), whom Ella falls in love with. Unlike Cinderella though, Ella must depend on herself and her intelligence to get her through her troubles and find Lucinda in order for her "curse" to be broken!

I think Ella Enchanted is the best season out of them all

Very funny and not the typical fairy tale (in delivering the story, that is. Haha. The formula is still the same. A prince charming, a peasant girl and the evil step mother and sisters, etc). But it's such an enjoyable movie for everyone, and I've watched this over and over again because I really like it. I even watch it almost every night before I go to sleep. It's really great story and really fun to watch.
Ella Enchanted will enchant any little girls, or older girls who are still young at heart. Ella was given the ‘gift’ of obedience by her fairy godmother. She has to obey everything that anyone tells her to do… which frustrates Ella, especially when her evil stepsister works out how to use her ‘gift to her advantage.
I defnitely recommend this movie for females of all ages. It has a great story that keeps you interested. Defnitely think about getting this for your girls sleepovers
The movie is distinicly different from the actualb ook, and where I had hoped that the movie would be like the book, this isnt so bad either. I really loved all the acting and the dancing and singing in the movie. Most of all i loved the end song and dance and the awesome giants. I would also recommend people to watch the read the book as well as watch the movie.
Anne Hathaway is awesome in this movie based on the best selling book. Her best scene is when she sings 'Somebody to Love' (Queen) with all the giants and ogres and other things. As well as being a fantasy adventure this movie features a fair bit of humour. Some of the 'obedience' Ella is forced to endure is hilariously funny. One memorable scene is when she has to freeze in mid air..watch and enjoy. I recommend it.
all in all i quite enjoyed this movie. it got a lot of mixed reviews, but i think it was very good for a childrens up-dated fairytale. anne hathaway (the princess diaries) did a very good job as ella, and carey ewles (the evil uncle) was pretty entertaining at times. overall, i enjoyed this movie, and i recommend it to anyone who likes a good family/romantic movie
A retelling of Cinderella, Ella Enchanted is a movie with a modern Ella. She must use her intelligence and perseverance to break the spell of obedience. Along the way, she meets her Prince Charming, but doesn't fall in love with him until she converts him to socialism. There are cute songs that aren't too annoying. This is a cute movie that even adults will enjoy.

gosh!! i really loved this movie! every bit and second of it! it has a great moral and message. the movie is very detailed and magical. it will make you laugh, and make you cry. anne hataway perfectly fits the part of ella because shes funny and a superb actress
