Mary ( Jena Malone) is a good Christian girl who goes to a good Christian high school in Baltimore where she has good Christian friends, mainly Hilary Faye (Mandy Moore), and a perfect Christian boyfriend, Dean (Chad Faust). Her life seems perfect, until the day that she finds out that Dean may be gay. After "seeing" a vision of Jesus in her pool, she does everything in her power to help him turn straight, including offering up her virginity. But none of it helps because Dean's caught and sent to a "degayification" center and Mary ends up pregnant. It's during her time of need that she becomes real friends with the school's set of "misfits," including Cassandra (Eva Amurri), the school's only Jewish girl; Roland (Macaulay Culkin), Hilary Faye's wheelchair bound brother, and Patrick (Patrick Fugit), the skateboarder son of the school's principal, Pastor Skip ( Martin Donovan); whilst Hilary Faye turns her into a social outcast.
Synopsis
Good girl Mary (Jena Malone) and her best friend Hilary Faye (Mandy Moore) are at the top of the food chain at American Eagle Christian High School. But all that is about to change in this "subversively funny" (USA Today) teen comedy about hype, hypocrisy and high school. Also starring Macaulay Culkin and Patrick Fugit, Saved! is "a boldly hilarious satire" (Rolling Stone)!

this movie was pretty good. i laughed a lot while watching it, and it was pleasantly entertaining. at first i was a bit iffy by the fact that maculay culkin was in it, but he wasnt to bad. mandy moore was pretty funny, over the top at some points, but then again that was her character. definitely worth the watch, hope you like it!
I've been told that the play is better, but I don't see how. A story about friendships, relationships, and the desire to be something that we're not. While the storyline and representation of charismatic, evangelical Christianity won't be to everyone's taste, watch it anyway and surprise yourself. My favourite scene is when Mary's friends take it upon themselves to do a 'drive-by-exorcism'. Brilliant.
"Saved" is a neat little film about the dangers of fundamentalism, in this case, of the evangelical Christian kind... Mandy Moore is outstanding as the superior Hilary Faye, a blend of beautiful cheerleader type / catty most popular girl in school & blazing evangelical bigot... it makes you cringe if you are a Christian, and that's not a bad thing... very good...
this is another great movie starring mandy moore, who is really breaking out of her shell, and showing the world that she can act in more indie style movies. this is one of the few movies that actually makes me laugh all the way through, so i would really recommend it to all teens. a bit like napoleon dynamite, in the sense that adults etc will probably not enjoy it.
this is really a must see movie starring mandy moore, who is really breaking the mould of her old good girl image by starring in this racy and stereotype breaking movie, about a very religious school. this is a really good movie to watch with close freinds, and it has soemr eally good acting and drama in it
Saved
I didn’t mind this movie but I thought that they could have done more with the storyline. I think that the comedy in it was good though and that is why I watched it the whole way through. I would have to say that it is defiantly for teens only though as I don’t think anyone over the age of 19 would enjoy it.
This is a really good movie. I went to see it just because it had patrick fugit from almost famous in it, but walked out totally loving it. It has a great story line, heaps of really good actors, and just a lot of really funny jokes. this really is a good movie, and i recomeend it to anyone who is a fan of a good laugh.
