Some called him a hero. Some called him the most dangerous man in America.
In Terry Gilliam's The Fisher King, Robin Williams is Parry, a homeless history professor who lives in a fantasy world of castles, Red Knights and damsels in distress. Jeff Bridges co-stars as Jack, New York's No. 1 shock DJ, whose off-hand arrogance triggers a tragedy which ruins his career. Penniless and without prospects, Jack finds himself plucked from disaster by the most improbable of saviours... Parry. And so the amazing story of The Fisher King unfolds - a modern quest for redemption and the Holy Grail, filled with humour, heartbreak and romance.

What a brilliant movie with excellent acting by both Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges. It shows how we can often judge those who 'live on the edge' of society and what some people consider 'bums' often have a whole history of experience that we could not even fathom.
The relationship that develops between Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges restores your faith in humanity.
great movie. kept me laughing the whole entire time. my family and i loved it. if you are in the mood for a bit of lighthearted comedy then this is the movie for you! either rent it from your local video store, buiy it from a movie shop--OR even better, purchase it of fishpond with your points! its such a good buy, you should all go out and watch it! this fisher king rox my sox
yeah hmm. umm well i gotta say that i remember people really loving this movie when it first came out but i never really got it and thought it was just like any other kind of adventure movie. but after seeing it again i realised what i was missing when i first saw it and realised that it is in fact a great movie which manages to blur reality and fantasy together to create a whole.
i don't know whether i don't like this movie as i was forced to watch it over and over as part of an english topic or because its just not a very good moive. from the first time i watched it i found that it was quite boring. there are the occasional (unintentional) funny parts like when you see lydia snap her head back when newspaper flies at her face and when you see a really short man in a suit walk past in the background
The Fisher King is a strange and intoxicating oddity a movie about a man who falls dramatically from grace only to find his salvation in delusional dreams. One of Terry Gilliam's finest achievements with stunning performances from both Jeff Bridges and Robyn Williams. Its a warm, weird and wonderful experience.
